GM Sergey Erenburg succesfully defended his title in the New Jersey Futurity (July 7-11), earning 7.5/9, a full point ahead of GM Leonid Yudasin in second place. To earn his dominating score, Sergey defeated all the non-GMs in the tournament, and drew the three GMs.

Sergey won the brilliancy prize donated by Pete Tamburro for the following sacrifical win over IM Dean Ippolito:

Unfortunately, no norms were scored this time, although local player Evan Ju had something of a comeback in the second half, scoring 2.5/4 in his final four games. Here is his win against IM Alfonso Almeida:

The event was organized by the NJSCF and the Michael Khodarkovsky International Chess School, and hosted at the Dean of Chess Academy. For games and round by round results, check out NJoychess. For more details, check out the New Jersey State Federation homepage  and the New Jersey Knockouts Blog.
