After winning five games in a row at the National Chess Congress
(Philadelphia, Nov.23-25), GM Darmen Sadvakasov took a draw, to take
clear first by a full point. Here is his most important win, against GM Zviad Izoria in the penultimate round. In the following position, Darmen found a surprising way to simplify to a clear win:
