After five rounds of the strong Chicago Open (May 27-31), GMs Varuzhan Akobian and Evgeny Najer lead with 4.5/5. 16 players trail with 4/5, including GMs Michael Adams and Loek Van Wely. The tournament features a $100,000 guaranteed prize fund in seven sections, including a $10,000 first prize in the Open.
