US #1 Hikaru Nakamura captured the clear lead at Tata Steel Chess today, with a win over GM Jan Smeets.

This allowed him to stride a half point ahead of Anand, who drew against Carlsen.

The next two rounds should be crucial. On Sunday January 23rd, Nakamura faces Carlsen with Black. After a rest day on Monday, he plays White against Anand on Tuesday.
