Nick Zimninski

The following was provided to the USCF by the Greater Toronto Chess League:
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of East York (Don Mills) chess player Nick Zimninski. Nick has been a fixture in the Toronto chess scene for decades. He was vacationing with his wife Isabel in Ft. Myers, Florida where the couple have been snow-birds for years and he suffered a fatal heart attack on March 16, 2006.

Nick Zimninski, a true gentleman, was an accomplished Correspondence Chess Master and a member of both the CFC and the USCF. Nick has finished in the money in last few year's Senior Open in Florida. Nick Zimninski was in his 82nd year and had undergone heart by-pass surgery just last year. He will be mourned by his family as well as being sadly missed by his chess family in both Canada and the United States.

Mr. Zimninski - may you Rest In Peace.
