Anton Sildmets (1925-2007)

Anton Sildmets, 81, Lincoln, widower of Victoria, died Monday (1/22/07). Born, Narva, Estonia (4/26/25) to Karl and Therese Sildmets. Member: Faith Lutheran Church; Golden Knights Chess U.S. Champion, 1964; State Chess Champion, 1962; four time city chess champion; postal expert; Master chess rating. Retired Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 30 plus years.

Survivors: daughters, son-in-law, Vaike and Max Reis, Lincoln, Sandra Lurry, Omaha; son, daughter-in-law, Robert and Kathy Sildmets, Lincoln; grandchildren, Zach, Ben, and Sam Reis, Colin and Melanie Lurry, Tiffany and Josh Sildmets; great-grandson, Alex Reis; sister, Adele Sildmets, Estonia. Preceded in death by: wife, Victoria.
