Menno Koning of Dover, Massachusetts passed at age 83 in 2007. Mr. Koning was a longtime member of the Metrowest Chess Club in Natick, Massachusetts. He was had also been a longtime member of its predecessor, the Framingham Chess Club, as well as the former Square 64 Chess Club, also in Framingham. He was born July 31, 1923 in the Netherlands and was an inventor and a patent holder. He was also an avid bridge player.
