Robert S. Gruchacz of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away March 7, 2006. Bob was born in Newark, New Jersey on November 30, 1953. After graduating from St. Peter's Prep and also Columbia University, Bob played chess in Europe for five years. Bob achieved an International Chess Master title and was a two-time chess champion in New Jersey.

Moved to Chicago in 1981 and traded on the Chicago Options Exchange until 1999. Bob is survived by his wife, Jean, and mother, Nola.
