Deborah Theresa Doll (1959-2004)

Deborah Doll of Longmont, Colorado, succumbed to cancer last summer. She was 45. Born in Indiana, she was the daughter of Arthur Doll and Joan Latno Doll. A graduate of Columbine High School in Little- ton, Colorado, she earned a B.S. from Colorado State University, with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics. She later earned an M.S. in Computer Science from National Technological University in 1996.

Debbie joined IBM in Boulder following graduation from CSU and remained there until her death. Her most recent position was Advisory Software Engineer in the Printing Systems Division.

Debbie had a great love for learning. In her free time, she was an avid reader, studied and played chess, wrote science fiction and fantasy short stories, was a pen pal correspondent with disadvantaged children, and learned new computer languages. Her long-term interest in Tae Kwon Do culminated in her earning a second-degree black belt in 1996. During her illness, she began learning to sketch and paint.

Debbie was also a supporter of the U.S. Chess Trust, and her will provides a substantial bequest to the Trust.
