Down For The Count

Or perhaps more accurately, it's come down TO the count - the counting of squares.  The National champions from Bellevue, Washington, have given Earthlings much to think about for their 35th move.  NASA astronaut Greg Chamitoff can do naught, but wait.
35 ... a3 will put the question to the white knight; 35 ... g6 prepares a pawn advance on the kingside; and 35 ... Kg8 starts a long king march.
