Agarwal, Shen, and Tanaka Take Early Lead at Cadets

After two rounds sharp play has brought three players to rise to the top in the 2009 U.S. Cadet Championship being held in Crossville, Tennessee.  Rohan Agarwal and Christian Tanaka, both from California, and Victor Shen from New Jersey each scored one win and one draw to earn the early lead after two rounds in the tournament.

“Wow was all I can say after the fighting chess in round one.  This is going to be a fantastic tournament,” remarked chief tournament director Alan Kantor.  An example from round one is Tanaka’s win shown here:
