At the Amber Chess Tournament (March 14-26, Nice, France), our top ranked American GM Gata Kamsky split with Wang Yue after scoring .5/2 against Sergei Karjakin. Going into round nine, Kamsky was tied for the lead in the Rapid competition, but since Aronian won his rapid game today against Morozevich, Kamsky is now half a point out. In round ten, tomorrow, 3/25/09, Kamsky faces Veselin Topalov in what should be an interesting grudge match.
