A "Kamsky Quad" was held as a side event at the Eastern Class Championships in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, with the objective of raising money for the Gata Kamsky International Chess and Sports Foundation and helping Gata prepare for his world championship semi-final match against Veselin Topalov.

Entry fee was $40 for this Game/10 quick rated event, with $20 of each fee donated to the Kamsky Foundation and the other $20 returned in prizes.  With only a few hours advance publicity, the event drew 6 players and was held as a 3-round Swiss.

$120 will be sent to the Kamsky Foundation for these entries, plus an additional $50 donated by three other Eastern Class players who did not play in the Game/10 tournament, a total of $170.  This may not seem like much, but if many USCF affiliates would hold similar events, a significant sum might be raised to support our nation's top player in his effort to return the world title to the United States!

The tournament was won by Corey Tolbert (1442), the lowest rated entrant, who scored 3-0 against two experts and a 1900 player!  Following with 2-1 were Thomas Little (2077) and Haizhou Xu (1929).
