Philadelphia, PA, October 21st - Maccabi USA is seeking Jewish Chess players, ages 15 and older, and volunteer staff to represent the United States at the 14th European Maccabi Games in Berlin, Germany, July 27th- August 5th, 2015, and at the 13th Pan American Maccabi Games in Santiago, Chile, December 28th 2015- January 4th 2016.

Rich Grodin and Lou Moyerman, the General Chairmen of Maccabi USA's European and Pan American Maccabi Games Organizing Committees, respectively, are working to appoint qualified players to represent the United States in Chess.

"The Maccabi Games are extremely important to me because they build Jewish pride," Moyerman says. "The Games provide Jewish athletes from the USA the chance to represent their country in an international sporting competition while bonding with their fellow Jewish athletes from the USA and around the world."

Maccabi USA is scheduled to compete in Chess at both the European and Pan American Maccabi Games in the Juniors Male age group, for those born from 1997-2000, as well as the Open Male age group at the Pan American Maccabi Games, for those between the ages of 18-35.

Maccabi USA builds Jewish pride through sports, producing the emotional intensity, high ideals, and powerful camaraderie of competition.  We connect athletes, volunteers, fans, and supporters with the global Jewish community.  Our athletic, educational, and cultural experiences build Jewish identity, perpetuate Jewish continuity worldwide, and strengthen support for the State of Israel.
