The US squad finished in fourth in the World Team Championships in Antalya, Turkey, with Russia taking top honors.  Team captain IM John Donaldson said, "This was a very strong event, much tougher than the Olympiad - even the eighth finishing team from Azerbaijan was around a 2640 FIDE average for its top four players."

GM Hikaru Nakamura earned a silver medal on board one. In addition to beating Kramnik, Nakamura won an important round seven game vs. GM Georg Meier, leading the US team to a 3-1 victory over Germany.
