Six Grandmasters tied for first at The National Open in Las Vegas: Wesley So, the victor on tiebreak, Varuzhan Akobian, Jaan Ehlvest, Manuel Leon Hoyos, Alejandro Ramirez and Enrico Sevillano. GM Ramirez talked to us about going into the National Open coming off a fabulous result at the 2013 US Chess Championship. 


Webster student GM Wesley So took the Edmondson Cup on tiebreak. 


GM Jaan Ehlvest also ended on 5/6, finishing off with a nice win over GM Tamaz Gelashvili. 


Another member of the Webster University contigent tied for first: GM Manuel Leon Hoyos. He defeated defending National Open Champ Aleksander Lenderman.
