Education the Focus at 2011 North American Youth Chess Championships
March 24, 2011
NEW YORK - The 2011 North American Youth Championships will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown, New York from June 25-29, 2011.

This event will be a great learning experience for young chess players from the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico and USA. For most it will be their first taste of international competition and an opportunity to form friendships. Additionally, this tournament will provide the opportunity to compete in a FIDE event, which will award FIDE titles and FIDE ratings.

Learning and practicing chess encourages a life time of fair play and it's a great way to build good thinking skills, which are crucial for a successful and happy future.

The U.S. Chess Federation will be using the April rating supplement to determine the official US Players for this event.

Each National Federation will be sending a list of official players, if you are interested in participating in this exciting event please contact:
