After a fantastic start at the London Chess Classic (December 6-15), including a win over Kramnik with Black, Hikaru Nakamura mistepped and lost to Magnus Carlsen. Nakamura now has five points, using the soccer scoring system (3 points for a win, 1 for a draw.)

Anand and local GM Luke McShane are tied for the lead with eight points. GM Nigel Short's woes continue as he lost a brutal game today with White against Anand and has just a single point.
