Troff Increases Lead at the World Youth; Zierk Clinches IM Norm |

In round seven of the World Youth Championship (Halkidiki, Greece, October 19-31), Kayden Troff of Utah increased his lead in the Under 12 section with a long and important win. 4992 Steven Zierk continues to impress in the Under 18. According to preliminary calculations by Michael "f-pawn" Aigner, Zierk has already clinched an IM norm after this eighth round victory over IM Mazur. 4993 Steven is now in clear second place behind only Smavel Ter-Sahakyan from Armenia. Other U.S. players with excellent scores include Jeffrey Xiong with 6.5/8 and Tommy He with 6/8 in the Open Under 10.
