At the penultimate round of the 2010 Chess Olympiad, the men lost 1-3 to Israel.  The second board battle was between two men who knew each other's chess styles very well--Emil Sutovsky was US Champion Gata Kamsky's manager and head trainer in his World Championship qualifying match against Topalov. Unfortunately for the USA, Emil topped Gata in today's battle.

Nakamura drew World Cup Champion GM Boris Gelfand.

Onischuk also drew while Yury Shulman lost on board four, bringing the tally to 1-3.

In brighter news, the women rebounded from a disappointing match against Greece yesterday with a 4-0 sweep over Peru.

Tomorrow is a free day and the final round takes place on Sunday, October 3rd at 1 AM EST (four hours earlier than usual.)
