This year's 13-player Pan-American Youth squad travels to Bento Goncalves, Brazil from August 1-8. The coaches are FM Aviv Friedman and IM Armen Ambartsoumian. You can get a glimpse into Aviv's coaching style in the recent CLO article, US Chess School Comes to Dallas. Armen is also on a roll. His student Tatev Abrahamyan recently earned an IM norm and went on to score a 7.5/9 finish at the 2010 US Women's.

Stuart Finney, a representative in the Boys Under 16 section, is chronicling his trip on chesscampeona.com. You can see the initial interview here. Also check out Stuart's blog.

You can follow the results and games of our team on the official website, http://www.panamericano2010.blogspot.com/ which is in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Also look for periodic updates on CLO. Go team USA!
