Paul J. Jandron (1933-2010)

Paul J. Jandron, a USCF member from Millbury, Massachusetts, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass.

He was 76. He was born May 14, 1933 in Worcester, the son of John and Marie (Sampson) Jandron, and had lived many years in Millbury. Mr. Jandron worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Millbury post office for 10 years, retiring in 1998. Previously, he worked at Crompton & Knowles Loom Works in Worcester. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. 

Mr. Jandron had been a member of the Massachusetts Chess Association and had played for many years at the Worcester Chess Club up until March 1993. An avid golfer, he once had a hole-in-one at the Heritage Country Club in Charlton, Mass. He enjoyed traveling and spending winters at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Ann V. (Laukaitis) Jandron; uncles, aunts and cousins in Canada; and nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law locally. His funeral was held February 22 in Millbury. Burial was in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
