Hikaru Nakamura, Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So and Sam Shankland all advanced to round two of the World Cup in Baku. Alexander Onischuk and Sam Sevian head to tiebreaks tomorrow.

Nakamura and Shankland face off in round two of the 128-player knockout event.

Wesley So plays the winner of Safarli-Balogh tiebreak and Fabiano Caruana plays GM Rauf Mamedov. GMs Robson, Kamsky and Akobian were eliminated in round two.
