The FUND shall be known as “The Drexel Chess Club Scholarship Fund” and shall be a non-endowed fund used for the benefit of undergraduate students. The FUND shall be used to provide financial support in the form of scholarship awards of $1,000.00 each year to a student in his or her freshman year with demonstrated financial need, a high school grade point average of at least 3.0/4.0 and with an Established Chess Player Rating of 2000 or higher. Students must self-identify and ratings will be verified by the uschess.org website. Selection of scholarship recipients shall be determined by the Director of Financial Aid. The scholarship shall be renewable provided the recipient makes sufficient academic progress toward his or her degree.
