World Chess Hall of Fame Opens Two New Shows Print E-mail

A day after the World Chess Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and the US Chess Championship opening ceremony, two new shows open at the WCHOF.

Cage & Kaino: Pieces and Performances and Strategy by Design: Games by Michael Graves will open to the public on May 8th. The opening reception, free and open to the public is on May 8 from 6-8 p.m. This is also round 1 of the US Chess and US Women's Chess Championships. 

The WCHOF will also host two concerts in May, both inspired by the work of electronic music pioneer John Cage, one of the exhibited artists. On May 15, a recreation of Cage's chess-inspired collaborative performance Reunion. Then, on May 28, Alarm Will Sound will perform a selection of other Cage works.
