Terms of Use for Commenting on Articles and for USCF's Discussion Forums, and for Viewing Information on this Web Site

In order to be allowed to comment on articles and to post in USCF's Discussion Forums and to access any restricted Members Only forums, you must be a current USCF member.

Your USCF ID must be present in the information in your registration request and you must have a vaild email address on file with the USCF in your member record.

If you do not have an email address on file with the USCF yet, you can use the form in the Members Only Area to update your membership record, or you can update or add your email address by clicking on Your Details and updating the information there.

Requests that do not meet the above requirements may be deleted or deauthorized without further notice.

Exceptions to the "Members Only" policy must be requested in advance by writing to the USCF Executive Director.

While the administrators and moderators of this site will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the US Chess Federation, the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people when acting in their official capacities) and hence neither the US Chess Federation nor the administrators, moderators and webmaster will be held liable.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the US Chess Federation, webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

System administrators are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards regarding confidentiality of data and individual privacy. Contents of systems may not be disclosed to unauthorized persons. But system administrators may access and disclose such contents when they determine such access and disclosure are necessary to protect the integrity of information technology resources, to ensure that these resources are equitably shared, or to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other valid forms of legal process.

The email address is used only for confirming your registration details and password and for other administrative tasks, such as sending new passwords should you forget your current one.
