The Aeroflot Open is held in Moscow each February
Strong American Grandmasters playing in the Aeroflot Open, include GM Gata Kamsky, GM Alexander Shabalov, GM Jaan Ehlvest and GM Melikset Khachiyan. Despite losing to countryman Ehlvest early in the event, Kamsky got back on the plus column in the "A1" section with a round five win over Zhou Weiqi. Today Gata drew against frequent US visitor, GM Loek Van Wely.

Shabalov won his sixth round game to climb back up to even.

Khachiyan, who won the Aeroflot "A2" section last year has 3.5/6.
