(Denton, TX) Children can learn the rules of chess by participating in a living chess game to be staged at the North Branch Library. This unique twelve-week program for 9 to 14 year olds will transform participants into singing, dancing chessmen!  Dr. Alexey Root, author of Children and Chess: A Guide for Educators and former U.S. Women’s chess champion, will direct the program.

The Living Chess group will meet on Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. beginning September 3. The program will culminate with a performance on November 21. This class is free and open to the public.  Space is limited and registration is required.
