GM Hikaru Nakamura just tied for first in the World Open despite taking two final round half point byes to jet off to the Donostia Chess Festival in San Sebastian, Spain (July 7-17).  Nakamura started the tournament on a high note, by defeating GM Anatoly Karpov.

In round two, Nakamura will get White again against the French GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (2702). See Nakamura's full schedule here.
