Kramnik was down a point in the sixth and final match against Deep Fritz (Bonn,Germany November.25-December.5). Kramnik needed to win to survive, but it was the machine that grinded out a nice endgame win, making the final tally 4:2 in favor of Deep Fritz. Will high profile man vs.machine matches continue even when it's clear that under current conditions, the machines tend to be big favorites? Altering the structure by extending the time control and/or the match length could level the chances somewhat. Will a Grandmaster ever be the Vegas favorite again?
