The Women's World Team Championship begins today in Astana, Kazakhstan (March 2-13). The US team, ranked fifth (behind Ukraine, Georgia, Russia and China), includes IM Anna Zatonskih, IM Irina Krush, WGM Tatev Abrahamyan, WGM Sabina Foisor & WIM Viktorija Ni. Team Captain and FIDE Senior trainer Michael Khodorkovsky told CLO that the team was honored that, "Elizabeth Millard, Deputy Chief of Mission, from the US Embassy in Kazakhstan attended the opening ceremony to support the team. She and her husband Von Millard met with us and joined for the reception following the opening ceremony."
