Reigning US Champion and former World Cup champion Gata Kamsky passed through the tiebreak at the World
Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. GM Ray Robson and US Champion runner-up Yury Shulman were eliminated by Etienne Bacrot and Vladimir Potkin respectively. |
Gata will face former FIDE World Champion Rustam Kasimdzhanov in round two. GM Alexander Ivanov will face Igor Lysyj, who defeated Mikhail Kobalia in the tiebreak.
