March2011FC.jpgDue to the increasing popularity of the Online Viewers for Chess Life and Chess Life for Kids , effective with the April, 2011 issues of these magazines the USCF will no longer offer the HTML version for these publications. The Online Viewer allows a ‘virtual’ experience for viewing the magazines as well as the ability to click on hyperlinks and email addresses (Chess Life version only for the time being), allowing readers to quickly visit advertisers’ websites, tournament websites, or contact organizers who include their email address in their Tournament Life announcements.

Further, members can continue to download a PDF of the magazines if that is their preferred method. PGN files will also continue to be made available so that readers can play through games using the chess viewer of their choice.

Thank you for making the Online Viewer the preferred method for accessing Chess Life and Chess Life for Kids online. By no longer creating the HTML version, USCF resources will better be utilized in continuing to create the best printed and online chess content in the United States.
