In round seven of the 2010 Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk, the USA-Poland match saw a isolated queen-pawn theme. It started with Alex Onischuk scoring a quick win over Macieja on the White side of the Nimzo. Unfortunately, Hikaru Nakamura's Panov Attack (vs. the Caro Kann) did not go as smoothly, and after a sharp counter-attack he lost for the first time in the Olympiad. Draws by Shulman and Kamsky brought the tally to 2-2.

The women rebounded from yesterday's disappointment with a big win over Armenia. Krush, Abrahamyan and Baginskaite drew while Zatonskih reeled in a big win with Black.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) the men will play China while the women face Russia 2. The FIDE Presidential election will also take place tomorrow so stay tuned and see IM John Donaldson's overview from the scene.
