Mr. Heinemann is the best chess coach ever! Mr. Heinemann has volunteered his time for over 12 years to teach kids how to play chess and be very good at it. Mr. Heinemann goes with the Moreland Chess Club player to every School Chess Association (SCA) tournament and even drives kids there and back.
Every year, he has a tournament, and he presents awards for the tournament. At the end of the year, he invites players and their families to a picnic. That's when he gives awards, such as Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, and letter in chess. You earn a letter in chess by winning 20 merit points throughout the year at SCA tournaments.
Mr. Heinemann is very nice, he gives out worksheets, and he gives us lessons every Tuesday morning. Every Thursday afternoon, he lets kids play games with each other to raise their chess club rating points.
If it wasn't for him, we also wouldn't have won 15th place in the nation and many trophies for SCA tournaments. That's why I think Mr. Heinemann is the best chess coach ever.
