Gregory Davis (1948-1994)
Gregory Davis, a long time Evansville Chess Club member passed away December 14, 1994.
Greg had been a regular member and active supporter of Evansville Chess Club events
since the early 1980's. He was a Professor of Music at U of E,
Teacher and Concert Pianist. Gregory performed widely in the U.S., Europe and South
America. He also appeared in hundreds of concerts on the U of E campus and in the EVV community
for 20 years. He was also a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra.
Davis was a longtime member of the US Chess Federation and achieved a 1739 over-the-board
rating.
