Shaked is giving himself the possibility of playing ... Ne7-f5.
14 ... g6 is better than 14 ... Kf8 15 Re3 (but not 15 Qxe6? Qxc3!).
After 14 ... g6, I do not think White is ready for 15 Nxe6. It seems to me that 15 Be3 is strong now, with the idea 15 ...
Qxc3 (or 15 ... Qxc7) 16 Bb5+. And 15 ... Nc4 is hammered by 16 Nxe6!
as 16 ... Nxe3 17 Qxa4+ cleans up.
