Shaked is focussing on the possibility of getting in ... Bd7-f5 by using
his queen to defend that square, leaving the knight on e7 as the guardian of
the pawn on d5. Another possibility was 15 ... Rad8 although then 16 Qd2 both
guards the bishop, thereby threatening 17 e6, and toys with the idea of
Bf4xh6. 16 ... Bf5 may be sufficient after 16 Qd2, but it is not clear.
Shaked's move seems generally safer. Note also that 15 ... Bg4 16 h3 Bh5 was
reasonable here.
