Tal Shaked surprised everybody by squeezing into the Semi-Finals after a
solid performance in the Group B playoffs. Shaked has historically been a 1 e4
player but has recently learned a ton of theory in both 1 d4 openings and the
English. Here, he must have specifically prepared for deFirmian, as deFirmian
has a farily set repertoire against the English.
