deFirmian is for the most part committed to this development of the knight
on f6. In the Grand Prix, Black often plays ... e7-e6 and ... Ng8-e7. But in
those lines, Black expects to play ... d7-d5 in one move, whereas here he has
already played ... d7-d6. Therefore, 6 ... e6 would probably not be that great
here, as White could get in a quick Grand Prix type of sacrifice f4-f5. Is
seems Kudrin prepared specifically the Grand Prix against 2 ... d6.
