Position after 22. Kb1

Previous Next

22.Kb1 Another time for reflection for GM Browne. Should he play "solidly with 22...d6? The "agressive" 22...e4 backfires to 23.Rhe1 as black's king is still not safe enough to open the center. black has an excellent position, his only problem is the weak pawn on b5. White can get excellent counterplay attacking this weakness. Browne must think ahead and calculate just how he will defend this weakling. (Have a question? Ask GM Rohde! Not all questions can be answered, but the Grandmaster will pick selected topics to cover live from e-mail received.)
