Draw agreed. Neither side has any advantage. From Seirawan's point of view, this is
reasonable - Dzindzi's quiet play allowed him to equalize, which is the
correct thing for him to do. This was a quiet game by Dzindzihashvili, and although he has drawn all
his games thus far in the event, some of them have been very interesting.
Regarding tournament tactics, both Dzindzi and Seirawan risk slipping out of
their current tie for 2nd place (with Ivanov, Kudrin and Gurevich) in their
group, if there is a decisive result in Ivanov - Kudrin or if Gurevich defeats
Shabalov. Moreover, in the race for 2nd place, neither one of them controls
their own destiny (as against Ivanov, Kudrin and Gurevich) as both Dzindzi and
Seirawan still have to face deFirmian, who will try to coast home to first
without taking risks. Finally, Dzindzi has Black in his final two games.
