The bishop is well-placed on e4 because it cannot be shut out with the move d4-d5. Also, the exchange of sark-squared bishops has left the Black queen semi-developed on e7. It appears to me that White's 7 Nc3 is the move which has allowed equality. (Have a question? Ask GM Rohde!
