After a long think, Benjamin plays a move which is primarily designed to
avoid the exchange of queens. Now 13 Nb5 Nxe4 14 Bxe4 Bxe4 15 Nxd6 Qc6 is
fine for Black, even though he may lose the pawn on c5. If White plays 13 Ng3
to lend support to the pawn on e4, then Black will have a choice of 13 ...
Rd8, 13 ... a6 or 13 ... cxd4. 13 dxc5 dxc5 14 Ng3 may be a more accurate way
for White, as the open d-file has a neutralizing effect on everything.
Benjamin only has 45 minutes left for the next 28 moves; deFirmian has an hour
and 15 minutes left.
