Position after 3. Nc3

Previous Next

The first important branch, and deFirmian plays as in Game 2, setting up for an Austrian Attack (with f2-f4) type of position. Much quieter is, for example, 3 Nf3 followed by lines with c2-c3, or just the Classical Pirc / Modern with 3 Nf3 followed by 4 Nc3. (Have a question? Ask GM Rohde! Not all questions can be answered, but the Grandmaster will pick selected topics to cover live from e-mail received.)
