Ouch! This move has not been good up until this point because of, for
example, 15 e5 Ne4 (a knight retreat just leaves White too strong on the
kingside) 16 Nxe4 dxe4 17 Ng5, with the e4 pawn being too weak. However, in
this situation, Benjamin plans to follow up with 17 ... c3!, sacrificing a
different pawn to fracture the White queenside. Then 18 bxc3 Bd5! gives Black
a big attack. deFirmian needs to rethink this. If he just exchanges on d5,
Black will have the clearly superior position.
