Position after 6... e6

Previous Next

This is quite unusual. Common is 6 ... O-O with the idea 7 Be2 e5 8 fxe5 dxe5 9 d5 Ne7, or even ... e7-e5 on Black's sixth move. But I must reserve judgment - Benjamin used an early ... e7-e6 in this game against Yermolinsky from this event (in a Classical Pirc) and snared him with a nasty trap. (Have a question? Ask GM Rohde! Not all questions can be answered, but the Grandmaster will pick selected topics to cover live from e-mail received.)
