2005 U.S. CLASS CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP COMES TO CHESTERFIELD, MISSOURI
Aug. 26-28 Don't Feel Outclassed - Play In Your Class!
(CROSSVILLE, TN)The 24th Annual U.S. Chess Championship will be held at the
Doubletree & Conference Center located at 16625 Swingley Ridge Rd. (US-40 Exit 19A),
Chesterfield, MO 63017 (20 miles west of St. Louis), August 26-28. Last years event drew
170+ players representing 20+ states! This years site offers not only chess competition but
luxury hotel accommodations, free parking, indoor pool, fitness room, tennis, basketball
and racquetball.
The 2005 U.S. Class is a United States Chess Federation National Event
and also qualifies as a Grand Prix event (30 points). The guaranteed prize fund is
$10,000.00. The event offers 8 sections, Master (2200/up) $1000-500-300. FIDE.
Expert (2000-2199) $800-400-200. Class A (1800-1999) $800-400-200.
Class B (1600-1799) $800-400-200. Class C (1400-1599) $800-400-200.
Class D (1200-1399) $800-400-200. Class E (Under 1200) $300-200-100.
Unrated: $300-200-100. You can choose the 3-day event, Aug. 26-28 or the
2-day event, Aug. 27-28. Registration on site for the 3-day ends Friday at 6pm
with rounds Fri. 7pm; Sat. 11am and 6pm; Sun. 9am and 3:30pm. For the 2-day
you have to enter before Sat. 11am. Rounds are Sat. 11am, 2:30 and 6pm and
Sun. 9am and 3:30pm. Entry fee onsite is $100.00 and you must be a member of
the U.S. Chess Federation. A special $60 entry fee is offered for those
entering onsite in the Class E or Unrated sections. The complete tournament
