2005 U.S. Amateur Team East, West, South and Midwest
Chess Championships Conclude!
(New Windsor)Four 2005 U.S. Amateur Team Championships concluded this
past weekend…with the 2005 U.S. Amateur Team East, held at the Parsippany Hilton
in Parsippany, New Jersey broke a record with attendance record.
2005 U. S. Amateur Team East
1210 chess enthusiasts made up 286 teams to break a record for the 2005 U.S.
Amateur Team Chess Championship held at the Parsippany Hilton Feb. 1-21, 2005 in Parsippany,
New Jersey. In addition to chess being the ultimate entertainment at this event one of
the highlights is the costume competition. Even if you are not one to experience the thrill
of the chess competition…being a spectator could just be one of the most exciting times
you’ve ever had at a chess championship! First place team: My 60 Memorable Anti-Semitic

2005 U.S. Amateur Team South

The “Grob This” team did take 1st place after winning the tiebreak to take the
championship title! Congratulations Andres Santalla, Jorge L. Diaz, Guillermo
(Captain) and Wayne Ballantyne! The event was held at the Clarion Hotel & Convention
Center in Orlando, FL.
2005 U.S. Amateur Team Midwest
Tim Just, Organizer and Tournament Director of the 2005 U.S. Amateur Team Midwest
reports having had a successful championship! The event was held at the Renaissance

2005 U. S. Amateur Team West
The competition for the West took place at the Norwalk Marriott Hotel in Norwalk, CA.
