The USCF Board appointed Jeffrey S. Loomis as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the U.S. Chess Federation, effective 20 May 2000. Mr. Loomis was hired by the USCF in January 2000 as Director of Finance and Administration, and this new appointment recognizes expanded responsibility and managerial oversight.
"I'm very pleased that the Board took this important action," said USCF Executive Director/CEO George L. De Feis. "Jeff has been instrumental in getting our finances in order, and in the budget development process." He adds "invaluable experience to our dedicated staff." In addition to overseeing finance and administration, Mr. Loomis will provide leadership to other USCF business operating units, and will work closely with the USCF Finance Committee.
Mr. Loomis holds an MBA and BA in business administration, and has over 30 years of professional experience in the areas of accounting, inventory management and financial analysis.
